As the title suggests, could anyone who has run either the updated or earlier versions of PB and/or Strength 1 templates link me to their logs? I’d like to see how your training went over the course of those programs so I could prevent myself from rookie mistakes while doing them.
I would also appreciate any and all additional info/advice from you with regards to Strength 1 or similar programming.
Upon purchasing any of the BBM templates you receive a PDF file with loads of information on: how to run the programme; using RPE; warming up; exercise selection; GPP etc. There’s also a FAQ section as well. I think if you read through the PDF then you’ll be more than prepared to run any of the templates, especially if you’ve used RPE in your training before. If you haven’t used RPE before then it can take a few sessions to find your bearings with and you’ll get better at it over time.
Actually, I have both the templates and have gone through the provided material multiple times. In a nutshell, I’m asking for reviews from those who have already ran these templates, especially those who have done the current and previous versions.
I haven’t had success in finding them in the Training Logs section (everyone is doing advanced templates, self-programming or the Bridge). Hence, this post.
Not sure what kind of review you are looking for, or if there is a particular question you are looking for an answer to? I have run both the earlier and more updated versions of both strength 1 and PB1 templates. In general my E1RMs went up a little more on strength 1 but I think I prefer the PB templates for myself most of the time because of some of the extra variety? I preferred the updated version of PB to the older version I ran but no real difference in opinion between the older and newer version of strength 1.
But that is all just my experience which could very well be different from what your find, so you might be better off just picking one and running it? If you care more about your 1RM performance in the immediate future / want to do more heavy singles I would do the strength template, otherwise I would run power building.
Apart from asking for your review of the programs, I don’t think my question is that specific. Just the process of analysing different people’s logs of the same program interests me and I tend to find something useful. Details like their training age, exercise and weight selection, RPE etc. Whether or not they stick to the prescribed RPE or constantly over/under shoot, and how that ends up affecting their e1RM trend. Of course, this might be a little out of scope of these posts, not to mention how laborious it would be to you. So I thought directly studying the training logs would be the most convenient option.
Ive just started a PB1 journal over at the training logs if your interested mate. Although as of now ive only done 1 session, so maybe not that helpfull.
