Leg Press for Rehab

Hello,

I will soon have the opportuniy to buy some equipment for my rehab center. Obviously the usual free weights will be a part of it, but I’m having trouble choosing between the different kinds of leg press :

  • Incline Leg Press
  • Horintal Leg Press
  • Decline or Hack Squat
The main goal would be for the leg press to be quite comfortable for a patient that still has troubles with a bodyweight squat, allowing them to access a full range of motion.
Does someone have any experience to share for that matter?

Thanks for your input, I hope it was in the right section of the forum…

Hey, if this is for patients then horizontal or incline may make the most sense. A hack squat typically necessitates the ability to stand and get into the machine, whereas the other two will allow a seated position. If you work with a lot of post-op, may even be worth going with horizontal over incline so the weight of the sled isn’t an entry point into using the machine. Hope that helps.

It does help, thanks a lot for your insight !
