Lift Frequency

Hi Barbell Medicine,

I’ve been interested in doing a competition which is set up like a powerlifting competition but the tested lifts are the Zercher lift (floor to knees, knees to lockout), the log press and the deadlift.

I was thinking I could use my old BBM templates that I received when I was still doing 1 on 1 coaching and then replace the squat with the Zercher, bench with the (log) press and then deadlift will stay as is. Would that work or would you say that needs a whole different approach?

I think this is a reasonable approach provided you have experience with the two unique lifts. The accessory and supplemental lifts should also be adjusted a bit to suit your needs, but yea, I think this is a decent starting place.
