Like many others, I grew up with the standard myth of not going swimming for a half hour after eating, since otherwise, one would inevitably cramp, drown, and be eaten by alligators.
Is there a similar, but true, prohibition against working out too soon after eating? Is there an optimal interval between dinner table and cinching your lifting belt? (And I don’t mean a sumo-esque food festival of excess - just a single plate of meat, potatoes, and a vegetable)
Thanks,
Mike
It’s more of a personal preference thing, but 60-120 min after eating is usually what I recommend.
Trying to get to LA or SD

TMI alert…still reading? okay, I literally shit my pants once bracing for the deadlift. Thankfully I had long joggers on but anyone watching would have found it strange to see someone brace for the deadlift (I grip and rip) and then suddenly power walk to the bathroom leaving all the weight on the platform. Hence I personally like to not eat a lot right before training.
