Power Clean/Snatch vs. Squat Clean/Snatch

I’m training the General Strength and Conditioning II template, and I’m doing some Power Clean and Power Snatch.

Will it make sense sometimes to change Power Clean/Snatch to Squat Clean/Snatch?

I think Power Clean/Snatch generates more power than Squat Clean/Snatch, so maybe it is best just to do the power vensions?

My training goal is to get as healthy as possible.

I don’t think the power variants generate more power than the squat variants in people who regularly train the lifts, but I don’t think the training effects of either approach are significantly different either.

To summarize, I don’t think it matters from a health or “general” power perspective.

If it were me, I’d probably do something like:

  • Block 1: Hang/block variants (power)
  • Block 2: Hang/block variants (full)
  • Block 3: Power variants (from floor)
  • Block 4: Full variants (from floor)

A little feigned progression never hurt anyone :joy:
