I am starting Powerbuilding III and have a question about the rep/set protocol. On the primary squat movement, it calls for a set of 4, then 10 more reps while using the same weight and maintaining the same RPE. For 4@7, I can surely repeat that for 2 more sets. If so, that only leaves me with 2 reps (out of the 10) on the last set, but it probably would be @5-6. Is the idea to not necessarily maintain the RPE, but keep it to a MAX of RPE 7? In which case, under RPE 7 is ok/expected?
The other thought was I could do 4/3/3 to get to 10 reps. In that case, I think the sets of 3 would be under RPE 7 as well, so if you’re looking to keep it at a MAX of 7, but not necessarily AT 7, then that would work too.
As I type this out I realize this may be splitting hairs, but I am still curious if you want us to maintain @7 or use @7 as the max, where a little under is fine too. I also could be making some false assumptions about how well I can maintain @7
