So I finished a mildly modified version of the HLM template 3 weeks ago and went on to run the (free!) BBM peaking template.
Yesterday was the test-day (since I had no real comp planned).
My all time PR’s were: BW: ~93kg
Squat: 190kg
Bench press: 120kg
Deadlift: 192.5kg
I had surgery in June 2016. Couldn’t train for about 4 months that year. Was unable to eat properly for longer than that and lost about 7kg of BW. After that I had to start training again.
So 6 months ago I tested my 1RMs on squat, bench en deadlift for the first time after the surgery.
The results were these:
Squat: 185kg
Bench: 115kg
Deadlift: 192.5kg which was a new PR.
These lifts felt like I would never be able to hit a new PR on squat and bench ver again. I’m 42, so I had the impressing I hit my max there and then. I didn’t see how I could train any better/harder to make progress any longer. (taking the time I can spend on training/recovery)
BW: 90.9kg
Yesterday things went a bit better than expected.
Squat: 1x191kg
Bench press: 1x121kg
Deadlift: 1x200kg (milestone!)
Very happy with the result!
All the info the BBM team put out for free helped me al lot with getting to these results.
I’m confident now that I didn’t hit my limits now and there is still room to grow and get stronger.
Thank you!
