Rib injury and training

Hi,

I unfortunately bruised my ribs at soccer on the weekend - I don’t think it’s too severe - but the pain is a little too much to want to train. I was supposed to start week 8 of the 12 week strength program this week. My question is, as soon as I’m ready to train again (hopefully next week), do I just pick up where I left off (maybe depends how long I have off)? Or maybe do week 7 again?

I’m a 29 year old male.

I’ve bruised my ribs before, and unless you really, really can’t train at all, I’d keep training. Go without a belt if that helps, and even go a bit lighter if needed. But taking a week off isn’t going to help your training, and training won’t make a bruise worse.
