Strength I Template Questions

I am wrapping up the Bridge Template (purchased version) and am preparing for Strength I, concerning which I have a few questions. 1. Can the Bridge Week 10 GPP program be continued into Strength I? Compared to the Bridge, Strength I has notably less GPP and AT activity. If it will not interfere with SBD gains maximization, I would prefer to preserve the conditioning adaptations I have developed. The GPP taper down in Strength I beginning around Week 9 makes intuitive sense (I assume GPP is reduced in preparation for Week 13 peak performance), but perhaps there can be some overlap between Bridge GPP and Strength I GPP. What do you advise?
2. Week 13, Day 1, Exercise 3, “work up to 1 rep @ last warm up”. What does this mean? Do one single at the top warm-up weight done on Week 12, Day 3, Exercise 1?
3. Week 13, Day 2, Exercises 1 and 2: What is a typical opener? Can this be translated into a target RPE? After years of sporadic and generally disappointing post-NLP programming, your Bridge has renewed my enthusiasm for lifting. Progress has been encouraging, and I am excited to see how far I can go. I really appreciate BBM’s attention to long-term, whole-person health. Thanks for your good work.

  1. Sure, you can do that.
  2. That designates the last warm-up before your opening attempt, e.g. your 1st attempt, as if you were doing a powerlifting meet.
  3. Typically your best triple or a 1 @ 7’ish would be a good opener.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll be happy to let you know how it goes. Thinking more about GPP, I’m not sure I want to taper down AT toward the end of Strength I. I wrote above about “gains maximization” but optimization is not my goal. I want to focus on strength; however, looking at the long term, I don’t care, for example, whether I pull 98% or 102% of my e1RM at week 13. How about this for GPP: 1. LISS and HIIT from Bridge Week 10 OR as written in Strength I, whichever is greater
2. GPP accessory work as written in Strength I Can you help me understand the potential costs of this modification?
