Is the strength 1 template supposed to have no exercise selection?

Yes, but you can always modify it.

I believe the idea is you start on the bridge/beginner template move to strength I or hypertrophy I then pick a focus between strengthlifting or powerlifting after which you should have a good idea how to program variations for yourself so in hypertrophy II and strength III you can adjust as you need.

If you’ve been using the old strength and hypertrophy templates you could probably just skip to hypertrophy II or strength III.
