I am currently on a modified version of the Texas method. Main difference being it has some more volume on everything and includes conditioning inspired by the military way from the famous “12 ways to skin the Texas Method” article. I plan on running The Bridge, maybe more than once when this gasses out, and I don’t think it will be a long time before that happens. I very much like the power clean and other olympic lifts and I would like to continue doing it. Is there a way to mix them in without interference with the main program? I don’t want to miss out on any of what The Bridge has to offer, but I also don’t want to stop doing that.
There is no way to add a bunch of additional training to the program without interfering with the program. So you may need to clarify your goals and preferences here. If you wanted to incorporate them, you could do something like a short period of EMOM power cleans/snatches on your GPP day.
I understand that running an olympic lifting program along with The Bridge is improbable to yield desired results, that wasn’t my intention.
I didn’t mean like a bunch of additional training, I was thinking if it is possible to get some exposure to the Olympic lifts without butchering the program. Say, I’m interested in doing an actual Olympic lifting program after The Bridge and getting some technique work with the clean and jerk and the snatch sounds like a good idea. Today I noticed that I’m more motivated to train because it’s fun and I like it. EMOM work sounds reasonable, not too stressful. Would it be alright to incorporate it like twice a week? 7 EMOM snatches and 7 EMOM C&J, for an example? Or easing into it, starting with like 4-5 EMOMs and then adding? Maybe spreading it over the week?
