Training when feeling under the weather

Hey Doc’s,

A little curious. I started The Bridge 3.0 on Monday, had a good session. Today, is my second training day BUT, I finished nightshift at 7am and started to feel cold/fever’ish symptoms coming on. Bunged up in the nose, throat area, bit of a headache, just a little bit shitty. My partner and kids contracted covid over Christmas but I never caught it. I am double vaccinated, I am going to do another lateral flow test just to rule that out. Would it be a good idea to get training done while ferling like tbis and let RPE dictate load OR push training back a day or two and recover a little more? Appreciate any advice - Thanks!

This is the kind of thing that there isn’t an exact right or wrong answer for. Fortunately, in the big picture (like, over the course of your entire training career) the decision you make is ultimately not going to make or break you.

If I were in this situation myself I’d typically train. Other people may choose differently, which is OK in the long run too.

Thanks Austin. I went ahead and trained and also got in some LSS cardio / GPP too. I think its actually helped me feel better vs worse
