Trying to Choose GSC1 or GSC2

I’m a firefighter and have been running the powerbuilding 3 and have enjoyed it but feel like the volume is pretty high for my current goals and I’m finding a lack of my conditioning. I like the General Strength and Conditioning templates and the customization they offer, but knowing that the trial week is usually a baseline week, I’m having difficulty deciding on what will fit best with my goals. It seems GSC2 will translate better to my job…What do?

Hey Kevin,

I would use your current training status to choose between one or the other. If you’ve been training for a long time and doing lots of formalized conditioning, I’d favor GSC 2, especially if you have a lot of time to train. If you haven’t been doing a lot of formal conditioning and/or have less time to train, I’d favor GSC 1.

Both are designed to improve strength, power, muscle size, and conditioning. I would not predict one works better over the other based on program design. If someone isn’t well-trained enough for GSC2, it won’t work as well as GSC1 for example.
