Vacation hotel gym

I am in week 4.3 of the Beginners Template. I am going on vacation for 5 days which is two of my 3 days per week that I workout. The hotel looks like it has a gym with free weights, a cable machine, and several weight stack machines. What do?

Hope you have a great time away! If by free weights, you mean barbels, then you can lift. However many gyms don’t have barbells, and I assume those are DBs. You could likely get two training days done at home, squeezing one in before you go and one after, training with fewer rest days those two weeks.

And then at the hotel, you can do cardio and GPP. Or you can use DBs to rig together some training like goblet squats, RDLs, bench, and press.

And then you enjoy it all!

Thanks a lot Leah for your reply! I did two workouts here in the hotel gym in Savannah. I just adapted what I was supposed to do to DB’s. We had a great time and did a lot of walking. If you ever have a chance you should visit Savannah.

None of my hotels have ever had a good gym.

Hotel with a gym is always nice.

This is already a very old topic but that’s great that your hotel has a gym with various equipment options.

This is an old conversation, but if it is still relevant for you then since you’ll be on vacation for two of your workout days, you can make use of the hotel gym to continue your fitness routine. Check out the Beginners Template on Old Royal Post’s website for some handy workout tips and ideas tailored to your level. It’s awesome that you’ll have access to free weights, a cable machine, and weight stack machines. Make the most of it and enjoy your workout sessions while on vacation! Have a fantastic trip!

It’s been a very very long time, but as for your program, maybe try doing some supersets to save time. Alternate between free weight exercises and machine exercises to keep things interesting. And if you’re up for a challenge, try out some bodyweight exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and lunges in between sets.

Since your hotel has a gym with free weights, cable machines, and weight stack machines, that’s awesome! What I did was adjust my workout routine a bit. I focused on full-body workouts to make the most of the limited days. Compound exercises like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses are great choices. You can also throw in some cable exercises to target specific muscles.

Though your post is from a few years back, your commitment to fitness remains inspiring! For those who stumble upon this thread, your situation is a familiar one. Hotel gyms can be a saving grace during vacations. It’s great that you had access to free weights, a cable machine, and weight stack machines during your trip.

Hey. Vacation gains, love it. I mixed it up with hotel gym workouts when I was in a similar spot. Focus on compound moves with those free weights and the cable machine – squats, deadlifts, and cable rows are my go-tos.
