Sorry if this has been addressed, still making my way through the podcasts and vlogs and thought my situation may be unique enough to deviate from common recommendations:
39y/o male, about to be 40., 6’1"
finishing my 10th week of SSLP
Started 201lbs, now 218lbs. i’ve gotten a little fatter than i wanted to, waist measurement at 41.5". eating 3500 calories a day, about 265g of protien
lifts have progressed as follows:
Squat - 135lb to 315lb
Press - 95lb to 142.5lb
Deadlift - 185lb to 350lb
bench - 125lb to 210lb
power clean - 85lb to 135lb
Over the last 2 weeks my training sessions have been wrecking me. hard to get around the rest of the day, just sore, achy, stiff… Also, power cleans just don’t seem to be working for me, I believe my technique is not optimal and I don’t really enjoy doing them, don’t feel the benefit that I do from the other lifts.
I’ve enjoyed SSLP up to this point but would like to start making some changes which has brought me here.
My question is should i go to the Beginner template or the Bridge?
I plan on reducing my caloric intake down to the point of slight deficit so I can get my waistline in check.
Thanks,
Trevor
