Hi Docs,
Currently on Strength I Week 7(Deload/Low-Stress week)
So in my country, it’s the holy week. Essentially Thursday and Friday the gyms are closed with saturday being not sure if gyms will open or not. I already did Day 1 of my program but there’s a chance I might miss 1 or even both remaining sessions for this week since I did day 1 on Tuesday and I didn’t realize gyms would close. What do? Should I repeat this week next week or should I move on to week 8?
I would just move onto the next week in this case.
Is this regardless if I could only do 1/3 sessions for the current week or assuming I can get at least 2/3 sessions in?
Also, should I try to at least add 1-2 exercises from the missed session and add it to the next session or just leave them as is? (Exercise 2 or 3 of day 2, add it in to day 3 which I plan on doing instead of day 2)
To me, it doesn’t really matter. I wouldn’t try to add any exercises in this context. Just do the workout as listed.
I might as well ask these for future reference.
- When it doesn’t matter, does it apply in other training weeks or only for deloada?
- If any of the training sessions (0/3) in a week weren’t done, does it merrit to repeat that specific week?
- In regards to training 4x per week. In the events that a sudden shift in schedule for that week prevents completing all sessions, how many sessions at minimum should be completed to continue to the next week or at least enough to not repeat the week?
A lot of this is context dependent for what I would do, but in the grand scheme of things…none of it really matters so I wouldn’t worry about it.
For a final, general thought here. If it’s a high priority training week and you did less than half of the training, I’d probably repeat it.
