Overload Exercise Selection

I have bought the Powerlifting 2 Template. The first 5 weeks the program prescribe overload exercises for the squat bench and deadlift and I don’t have the access to the equipment necessary to complete those (e.g bands, chains, wraps, slingshot, boards or any specialty bars). Is it ok to do pin press for the bench overloading exercise? for deads I’ll probably use block pulls and for squats I’ll use high bar squats (not sure if high bar qualifies to be an overload movement though). Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! You can certainly make this work-Squat as HBBS will be fine, DL with mid-shin rack pulls are great, and bench can be floor press or a board bench. The press variation is indicated as lighter and we suggest DB press, incline DB, incline bench, or dips there in the template. (You might need to change the font size on the template to read the full text.) But you could do pin press, sure.

Thanks for the reply, is there any significant difference between the rack pull and the block pull? I pull sumo so pulling off pins would make me pull conventional and I rather be more specific (please correct me if im wrong). And I don’t have any boards so I guess floor press it is. Thanks!

They just use different equipment. If you have blocks, mats, or plates to use to elevate the barbell off the ground…do that.

For boards, you can use a towel under your shirt.
