Would move onto phase 2 of our Beginner Template if the first phase didn’t work for you, but I wouldn’t recommend SS.
what do u think of a program like:
2x8 1xAMAP
2x6 1xAMAP
2x4 1xAMAP
and then u increase weight if u hit +1 on ur amap set?

If you dislike RPE I think that AMAPs are an ok way to regulate. But 3 sets of med-high rep squats to failure every week seems rough. Also, I wouldn’t add weight when you can only do one more rep on the AMAP. And I’d probably include some exercise selection variation. It’d probably be better to follow Jordan’s advice and follow the rest of the beginner program, or you could get Average to Savage 2 which I believe has the option to regulate via AMAPs. Neither of those programs focus specifically on 5rm squats, but you probably don’t need to at this point.
