Hi! I’m now on week 5 of Hypertrophy 1. I’m finally starting to feel less exhausted during those long sets, and I don’t want to quit the program at week 5 to prep for a meet. It’s a small meet that my gym is hosting and I’d still like to support them and compete.
How should I approach training after I finish Hypertrophy 1? I’ll have around 2-3 weeks to get used to heavier weights before the meet. It looks like the rona is under control here in Finland and the meet is actually happening.

If you’re going to train for a meet, I would go ahead and do that, which wouldn’t be a hypertrophy program…
If you don’t want to quit the hypertrophy program, that’s cool- I’d wait for another meet then.
If neither of those are suitable solutions, I’d do the last 2-3 weeks of our peaking template after the hypertrophy template then.
Thanks, Jordan. I’m only doing the meet to support the gym’s new owners who I really like. I don’t plan on competing again due to my disdain for the Finnish federations.
I’ll stick with the hypertrophy template and follow your advice on the peaking template then. I like the new ownership, but not enough to hop off-program unless they get Eleiko plates to match the bars!
