Arm work during fat loss phase

Dear team

Presently I am focused on fat loss, trying to maintain muscle, and get in 150 minutes of cardio weekly.

I restarted the Bodybuilding 1 template a few weeks ago. All good. I do 20-25mins on the elliptical after weight training, aiming for around 130bpm (just in zone 2).

On the two GPP days, the template calls for 6 sets of Bicep and 6 sets of Triceps work, in addition to Ab exercises. Considering my goals, is all that arm work necessary? Or would just 3 sets for bi/tris be sufficient to maintain muscle there?

You could probably maintain most of your arms’ muscle mass with half of the volume, but I’d prefer more just to make sure. I’d predict more muscle mass preservation, better strength, fullness, and who knows, you might even grow some more muscle!
