Hello BBM Rehab Team,
I just purchased the Low Back Rehab Template and in the instructions it mentions the Reverse Hyper a possible rehab movement, but it is not an option on the APP??? Regarding the reverse hyper, what are your personal thoughts on the exercise and is there any evidence that shows benefits for low back rehab? In particular, would you recommend them for someone with radicular pain (tingling) going down the back of the legs to under the feet (stronger sensation down the left leg)?
I’m just trying to determine if the $400+ Price for the Rogue Scout is worth it or not? The reviews are wonderful and many say their pain is gone after a few sessions or a couple of weeks. Although, I have been doing well using the at home routine as outlined in the article “From Pain to Progress: A Practical Approach to Sciatica Relief” by Charlie Dickson. This is a wonder article and very helpful—this lead me to purchase the rehab template. In addition, nerve flossing (stretches) and glides have also been helpful.
Thanks for your help and have a blessed day!

Hey Paul,
Thanks for the post. I do not think the reverse hyper is uniquely beneficial for low back pain, though some individuals may find it helpful. This is the same way I feel about most other exercises, e.g. people have different preferences and responses. I would not recommend the reverse hyper specifically for the symptoms you mention, no. I wouldn’t flag it as a no-go either. It’s just another tool in a toolbox.
Since you don’t have it already, I have reservations about telling you to spend your money on it. If you don’t have a back extension bench/apparatus, I’d favor something like that first.
Just my 0.02.

Thank you for the reply, Doc! I appreciate you sharing your two cents. I do not have a back extension bench, so I will look into this piece of equipment instead. Do you prefer a 45 degree back extension compared to the Roman chair (old school) or GHD? How would compare the movement of a 45 degree versus back extensions off a GHD? Would the 45 degree back extension be more beneficial for rehab?
Thanks and have a blessed day!
Paul
I think a GHD is more versatile than a 45* bench, as you can do razor curls, rows, sit-ups, and more with it. Still, it was one of the least used pieces of equipment in my garage gym. I do not think there is a big difference in GHD vs back extension bench for rehab. You could get away without having access to either as well.
